Glacias | The REALM of Ice
Introduction
Glacias is a large region comprising the Three Seas of Glacias the Great Ice Plains, and Quexeth Forest, which houses the main population despite its smaller size. When crossing the continental ocean eastwards from Illemana, one will feel the temperature plummet. Eventually, they will enter Glacias through the Quexeth Sea.
The Quexeth Sea
This refers to the waters bordering the western coast of Glacias. Floating in this sea is a tribal civilization known as Quexeth - its populace are known as Quexethians. They have studied the element of Aqua over thousands of years and the most elite of the tribe are said to parallel Glacias herself in their control over the element. This is also the final grounds where First Class Aurors undergo a rigorous course to be qualified as Masters of Aqua.
Quexeth Forest
The western coast of Glacias stretches several kilometers and is populated by thousands and thousands of deciduous trees. This large stretch of taiga is known as Quexeth Forest. It contains several towns and cities.
The City of Magewood
Magewood is a city populated by hundreds of Mages due to the strong magic aura in the area. This is a place of gathering for worldwide conferences regarding magic due to its rich history. As it houses major magical schools and training centers, this is a sacred ground respected by all who have studied and learnt magic in the schools. This is also the capital of Glacias.
Snowlink Village
Snowlink is a small village in the middle of Quexeth. The Chief of Snowlink, Wolvax, takes charge of the dungeon built beside the village - Snowlink Challenger Dungeon, which is used by the Magewood Aqua Training Institute (MATI) to test disciples to qualify for the elemental rank of Third Class Auror and the Snowlink Challenger Badge. Snowlink Village functions as a resupply point for challengers of the dungeon.
Frostware Village
Frostware is a lakeside village in Quexeth. Although small, it houses several important structures, including the Wizard’s Den, a magic experimenting facility which requires it to be far away from other civilizations to obtain the best experimental results. The village is also equipped with facilities to monitor the many magical creatures living in the Quexeth Lake.
Quexeth Challenger Dungeon
In the older sections of the Quexeth Forest, an ancient dungeon lurks. Built in the early Fourth Age by Grandmaster Wizard Quexeth, it was the original dungeon used to qualify Third Class Aurors. Since then, the title has become more stringent, and the easier Quexeth Challenger Dungeon has become a secondary assessment to the far more engineered Snowlink Challenger Dungeon.
Darkwater City
Darkwater City is a city at the edge of Quexeth Forest, along the coastal line. It is a heavily guarded city accessible only by those with the rank of Master of Aqua, Master of Lux, and Master of Tenebrae simultaneously. This is due to the nature of the magic being practiced in the area - which is tri-elemental, involving Aqua, Lux and Tenebrae. The mixture of Lux and Tenebrae in a single spell makes the spell not only difficult to cast, but exceedingly powerful if done correctly, which rationalizes the requirement in Elemental Mastery Rank. It also houses the Darkwater Dungeon, one of the most difficult to conquer, as a challenge for the brave and courageous. The few who succeed are awarded the Darkwater Challenger Badge.
The Town of Optay
Optay is a small town at the edge of Quexeth Forest, beside the Great Ice Plains. It is equipped with copious combat training facilities as it was used as an outpost during the Eldritch War. Currently, it serves as a watchtower to overlook the plains and as a lighthouse for those who need it. Optay also cultivates the magical plants used in brewing, forging, and infusion which require a cold environment to grow.
The Great Ice Plains
It covers the majority of Glacias, but is practically inhabitable due to the difficulty to survive in the harsh weather conditions. However, this also makes the area excellent for celestial observation, especially at night. There are only two villages in these plains.
Snowfox Village
Snowfox is a large village on the Great Ice Plains. Its inhabitants are well-accustomed to the cold and mostly fish for a living. Some particularly well-trained villagers also dive into the frozen waterlogged Snowfox Caves to explore. The Snowfox Caves are still mostly unexplored and is said to hold a lot of ancient treasures of the past. Adventurers are usually hindered by the extreme cold temperature beneath the surface.
The Ancient City of Snowfox
Ancient Snowfox is what remains of the Snowfox which existed during the First Age, hidden within the Snowfox Caves. Not much is documented about the place since no one actually knows where it is.
FlaxFlover Village
Flaxflover is a village situated on a special terrain area in the Great Ice Plains, inside an icy ravine. The village was initially started by a wizard who aspired to also be an architect, but quickly became a novel place to live in. Since it is also expensive to live in this village, it turned into a living ground for highly elite retired wizards with too much time on their hands. They have designed various dungeons in the vicinity for aspiring adventurers to attempt. Those who accomplish the feat of overcoming all seven of their challenges will be awarded the legendary Badge of the Seven Winters.
